Design Inspiration: Pattern design is inspired by the Emir's (King) Palace, located in the city of Kano, in Kano State, North of Nigeria. Gidan (House) Sarki (King) - loosely translated from Hausa (language spoken in Northern Nigeria) to English, as the 'Kings House', is part of the maintained section of the Ancient City Wall of Kano built in the 14th century.

The palace of the Emir of Kano, is the oldest and largest traditional palace in Nigeria. The wall has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Design Inspiration: The Graphic pattern design is inspired by the Arewa knot symbol, a familiar fixture in many Northern Nigerian artistic works and the symbol is also used on woven ancient fabrics in West Africa and is still used in modern clothing by Hausas, Yorubas and others.

Inscribed over it is text taken from our ‘UNafraid Creed’- that you have the power to flip the damn script, take that Pain, and turn it into Art. And that you can Dream, BELIEVE, Create and MAKE It HAPPEN! Because. YOU ARE LIGHT and MAGIC. And now\always\still, RISE (keep RISING), UN/defeated, UN/ashamed, UN/apologetic, UN/broken, UN/bowed and UN/afraid!

Our Process:

Our custom created pattern design is printed on a fabric base. As a growing brand, we do not print in large quantities to stock at the moment. This allows us to waste less, and avoid over printing fabrics. This also allows us to grow sustainably. The process from printing your custom fabric to manufacturing your timeless apparel, to delivery, takes between 1 – 1.5 months. This time frame can vary and if there are any changes, it will be communicated to you via email and followed up with a phone call.

For Scarves, if stock is not available, it will take between 3 - 4 weeks to restock. 

Once you complete your purchase, we will send you an email with the confirmation and estimated timings.

If the order contains more than one product, shipment will be made once all the garments are ready. Cancellation of your order(s) will attract a 10% charge for administration costs. 

We have a 7-day return policy local orders and a 14-day return policy for international orders. Which means if you are not fully satisfied with your order, send us an email first and you can return it to us within the days stipulated. See REFUND and RETURN POLICY.
